It aims to improve both security and efficiency when performing tasks such voice or facial recognition. The US-Taiwanese company, which is backed by Alibaba and Sequoia, designs edge AI chips that keep customer data off the cloud, using algorithms to process information on-device – be it a computer, camera or drone. Kneron, the AI startup that aims to make home devices more secure, just unveiled a powerful new processing chip that it claims will rival similar offerings from tech giants Intel and Google.
